Project #4 Throwing Shade

I was successful in “Throwing Shade” in my project by using spotlights on my Bas-relief sculpture and then emulateing the shadows that the lights cast with black acrylic paint.

Bas Relief Critique Statement

What I feel I was most successful with this project were the actual construction of the sculpture and the size. I learned so much about working with the wood and the actual construction. I feel like my piece is interesting without being too large or too small. My biggest struggle with this project was working with the band saw. I was too timid and scared with my cuts at first. I feel like my shapes may be repetitive without the ability to make curved cuts. I would like feedback on if my homemade stain and shadows work together.
